Even Incarcerated People Have Strong Opinions About The Election

Today will be a tense day for people all over the US, but especially here.

It strikes me as a little ironic that people who will likely never be able to legally vote again have such strong opinions about an election. Once you’re a felon, you lose your right to vote, unless you have your record expunged. Let’s face it, most of the folks in here won’t be able to accomplish that feat, since for the majority of them, this isn’t their first rodeo, nor will it be their last.

But that doesn’t stop them from having or voicing their strong opinions about this election. Specifically, how much they support the former president and fellow criminal, tRump.

I’ll never understand folks supporting a candidate who blatantly states he could not care less for people who are exactly like them. This goes for poor folks, the disadvantaged (in any way), women, etc. tRump does not care about any of you. If you aren’t a rich white man, he’s got nothing for you. Trust me, you’re not “the greatest” in his eyes.

But these folks I’m surrounded by, who are exceptionally disadvantaged, felons, poor, mostly POC, and criminals (whether they are or not remains to be seen, the system says they are), yet they are die-hard supporters of a man who…
